SEGMENT TWENTY SEVEN
FRAGMENT OF A LETTER FROM ANNABELLE SCHILLER TO H. PEUGEOT ANSIBAL

I expect the police to arrive at any moment, and I doubt I have any strength remaining to deal with them. I would rather run away than face the charges. I am certain nearly everyone will take my absence as proof positive of my guilt. It is my fear of the way reality manifests itself in various forms that makes me run.
Forgive me for not sharing Xyr’s revelations with the rest of the world. I will not trust to Xyr’s persuasive powers, given the outrageous of Xyr’s tale.
I cannot tell you where I am bound, nor can I reveal my plans.
Please believe that I am innocent, despite all appearances to the contrary. It is the truth.

Very Truly Yours,
Annabelle

THE END, ACCORDING TO ZEKE RINGO.
